Homemade Chicken Jerky for Dogs
Equipment: Food Dehydrator or regular Oven
Ingredients: 1 pound Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts
Instructions:
1. Remove chicken breasts from the package and place them on a plate without the sides of the chicken touching each other
2. Place the chicken in the freezer for approximately 1 hour or until semi-frozen
3. Remove the chicken from the freezer and using a knife, make 1/8 - 1/4 inch thick slices going against the grain or with the grain for slightly chewier treats
4. Place the chicken strips on the dehydrator trays being sure that the pieces are not touching each other
5. Dehydrate at 170 degrees for approximately 4 to 5 hours or until the chicken is fully dry and has a slight snap when broken
Oven Alternative:
1. Preheat oven to 170 (some only go as low as 200, which will still work)
2. Place chicken strip on cookie sheets
3. Bake for 6 - 8 hours, checking periodically for progress
Store in Airtight container

1-10 oz bag cut green beans
1-10 oz bag baby limas beans
1 -10 oz bag frozen broccoli cuts
1 sweet potato, chopped
1 parsnip or turnip, chopped
1 bunch spinach, kale, bok choy or Swiss chard ½ cup Goji Berries
1 cup brown rice or quinoa
½ tsp ground egg shells per lb of meat for calcium
Instructions
1. Put meat in crock pot and break up meat with chopper. Fill with water to cover well. Cover with lid and cook on Low 2-3 hours
2. Add vegetables --- except leafy greens. Add water if not covering good. Should be consistency of a stew. Continue cooking on Low for 4-6 more hours, until vegetables are cooked
3. Turn crock pot off. Add leafy green and goji berries and allow to steep 30 minutes
4. Add cooked grain and calcium and cool slightly
5. Put in freezer containers that can be thawed for 3-5 day batches
Note: If your pet picks out specific vegetables you can blend the stew in a food processor or blender.

3 Ingredient Dog Treats (from Spoiledhounds.com)
Equipment: Silicon Candy Molds, Cookie Cutter, Cookie Sheets, Oven
Ingredients:
1 Large Sweet Potato
3 cups Rolled Oats (Old Fashioned Oats)
1/2 cup Creamy Natural Peanut Butter
Instructions:
1. Bake the sweet potato at 400 degrees for 45 - 60 minutes or until done (you can easily insert a fork into the middle)
2. Cool the sweet potato to room temperature
3. Remove and discard sweet potato skin. Mash the flesh
4. Preheat over to 250 degrees
5. Add two cups of the rolled oats to a blender or food processor and blend until it is the consistency of flour
6. In a medium bowl, combine rolled oats with the oat flour
7. Add the peanut butter and 3/4 cup mashed sweet potato to the oat blend and combine using your hands until a dough forms
8. If you are using candy molds, simply press the dough into the mold making sure to fill in all the space
9. If you are using cookie cutters, turn the dough out onto a smooth surface. Using your hands, squeeze and combine the ingredients until you have a flat, smooth dough. Flatten evenly with your hands or a rolling pin to about 1/4 - 1/2 inch thickness. Place the cutout pieces on a baking sheet lines with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
10. Bake the treats at 250 degrees for 2 hours
11. Transfer baked treats to a wire rack to cool
Be sure to use natural, unsweetened peanut butter. Do not use peanut butter with xylitol, a sweetener that is toxic to dogs
Store the baked dog treats in an airtight container

Equipment: Cup Cake Paper Cups, Oven
Ingredients:
1 Cup Oat Flour
2 Mashed Bananas
1/3 cup melted coconut oil
2/3 cup blueberries
1/3 cup water
1 tsp baking Power
Instructions
1. Preheat over to 350
2. Mix all ingredients together
3. Put mixture into paper cup cake cups
4. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes
Store the baked dog cakes in an airtight container.

1. Preheat over to 350
2. Mix all ingredients together

4. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes
Store the baked dog cakes in an airtight container.
Peanut Butter Pumpkin Treats
Equipment: Dash Treat maker or Oven with silicon molds/cookie sheets
Ingredients:
1/2 cup pumpkin puree (or canned pumpkin with no added ingredients)
3 tbls unsweetened smooth Natural Peanut Butter
1 Large Egg
1 cup whole wheat flour
Instructions
1. In a mixing bowl, combine the pumpkin, peanut butter and egg and whisk until the mixture is combined and smooth
2. Add flour to mixture and mix with fork until a soft dough forms, using your hands at the end to work in the last bits, if necessary
For Dog Treat Maker:
3. Lightly coat the cooking surface of the dog treat maker with cooking spray
4. Add dough to the dog treat maker, close lid and plug in
5. Bake for 5 minute, then use short tongs to turn the treats
6. Bake for 5 - 6 more minutes
7. Remove treats and cool on a wire rack
8. Repeat with remaining dough
For Oven/silicon molds Method
Follow steps 1 &2 above
1. Preheat oven to 350
2. Add dough to silicon molds
3. Place filled molds on cookie sheets and put in preheated oven
3. Bake for 20 - 30 minutes
4. Remove treats from oven and let cool.
5. Pop out the treats
Store cooled treats in an airtight container

Equipment: 21 -24 lip balm tubes or 6 1-oz tins, small digital kitchen scale (optional), small pot or double boiler
Ingredients:
2 oz (approx. 2 tbsp) olive, sunflower or sweet almond oil
2 oz (approx. 2 tbsp) coconut oil (buy on Amazon)
1 oz (approx. 1 tbsp) Shea butter (buy on Amazon)
4 tsp beeswax (buy on Amazon)
Instructions
1. In a small pot or double boiler, over low heat melt the oils, shea butter and beeswax
2. Stir continuously until all is melted and well blended
3. Carefully pour mixture into lip balm tubes or tins (buy on Amazon)
4. Let them cool on the counter until hard
5. Cap and label
6. Keep away from extreme heat
7. Apply the balm as a preventative or to help soften dry paws or noses.

1. In a mini food processor, pulse the oats until they are coarsely chopped
2. Add the cheese, bacon, and pulse until the mixture is finely chopped
3. Add the egg and whirl until the dough that forms holds together when you press a small amount between your fingers
4. Lightly coat the cooking surface of the dog treat maker with cooking spray
5. Add dough to the dog treat maker, close lid and plug in
6. Bake for 6 minutes
7. Using tongs, turn the treats over
8. Bake for a further 4 minutes or until browned and hardened
9. Transfer treats to a wire rack to cool
10. Repeat with remaining batter

1/4 cup flat-leafed parsley leaves, coarsely chopped

2 tbsp brown rice flour
Instructions:
1. In a mini food processor, combine the chicken and rice
2. Whirl until they form a grainy paste
3. Add the parsley and pulse until the mixture is a fine paste
4. Add the egg and pulse to make a wet puree
5. Transfer the chicken mixture to a mixing bowl
6. Add the rice flour. With a fork, mix until a soft, slightly sticky dough forms, adding a bit more flour if needed
7. Lightly coat the cooking surface of the dog treat maker with cooking spray
8. Add dough to the dog treat maker, close lid and plug in
9. Bake for 7 minutes
10. Using tongs, turn the treats over
11. Bake for a further 7 minutes or until browned and hardened
12. Remove with tongs and transfer to a wire rack to cool
13. Repeat with remaining batter

2. Add the banana, coconut oil, and with a fork mix to form a soft, slightly sticky dough

5. Bake for 5 minutes
6. Using tongs, turn the treats over

Ingredients:
1 large sweet potato
1 ripe banana
1 egg
2 tbsp melted coconut oil
2 cups oat flour
Instructions:
1. Bake a large sweet potato at 400 degrees until fork tender, about 45 - 60 minutes. Allow it to cool to room temperature
2. Peel and mash flesh. Discard the skin
3. Reduce the oven temperature to 350 degrees
4. Place 2/3 cup mashed sweet potato, mashed banana, egg and coconut oil in a bowl
5. Combine wet ingredients well
6. Add the oat flour to the wet mixture and combine well. The dough will be sticky
7. Press the dough into cookie/candy molds. Instructions for rolling out and cutting the dough is below
8. Place the molds on a cookie sheet
9. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes
NOTES:
For dough you can roll out and cut, place the dough in the refrigerator for about 1 hour. Roll the dough out onto a flat surface until about 1/2 inch thick. 9. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes until golden
NOTES:
