Happy Tails Dog Club's April PET FOOD DRIVE was a HUGE success!!!!
A total of 1, 475.20 lbs of pet food was donated:
1113.5 lbs of Dog food
135 lbs of Puppy food
159.07 lbs of Cat food
67.88 lbs of Kitten food
Pictured above is of the food collected through April 15th, when Bette and Bob Sherman from DASF came out to Robson Ranch to pick it all up! Pictured from left to right are: Pam Rubin, Donna Steibel, Greg Hennings, Jan Hennings, Lorraine Wilson, Melissa Crabill, Ginna Thran, David Thran, Sandy
McAfee, Char Niemi, Bette Sherman (DASF) and Kathy Dial.
Here is a picture of most of the donated bagged food we've collected - at the Denton Animal Shelter! Bette & Bob had to make two trips to pick up the food donated so far!
Working with the Denton Animal Support Foundation (DASF), our Pet food drive benefited the Pet Food Pantry at the Linda McNatt/City of Denton Animal Shelter, Our Daily Bread, SPAN Meals on Wheel Senior Paws and the Denton Veterans Association.
Each of these programs provides temporary assistance to help individuals and families facing income insecurity to feed their pets. Recently, the DASF has been inundated with requests for assistance not only for pet food but for emergency medical financial assistance as well. They try their best to accommodate each request and to find ways to assist with keeping pets healthy and remain in their loving homes.
Our community support has made all the difference to DASF - they're hopeful that the food will last them through the summer.
