The Club’s first meeting for 2021 was held on October 9th and our guest speaker was Stephanie Volm and her rescue foster dog, Squid. Stephanie is a volunteer from EARS (Education & Animal Rescue Society) and she explained to our club members what exactly they do. EARS rescues dogs, usually with health issues, from area shelters and places them in foster homes where care for them until they are healthy, trained and socialized. EARS then finds the perfect home for them. A lot of hard work and dedication goes into each dog they rescue. They also work with many other rescue organizations, including bird, small mammal, and a pig rescue. All attendees thoroughly enjoyed the presentation and learning more about EARS, an organization that Happy Tails supports and donates to.
Members who attended included Melissa Crabill, Jessee Lovelace, Renee Lozano, Sandy McAfee, Karen McGraw, Linda Provenzano and board members, Rebecca Laschinger, Donna Steibel, Linda Waltak, Lorraine Wilson.
